Fashion Month isn’t just about runways—it’s about cities, culture, and the stories unfolding between the shows. As the global fashion calendar comes alive, EVO is stepping into the season with intention, curiosity, and a lens focused on process as much as presentation.

From underground streets to iconic fashion capitals, this season is a prelude to what’s ahead—not just for fashion weeks, but for EVO’s upcoming magazine launch.

We begin where creativity feels raw, expressive, and unapologetically itself: Berlin.

Entering Berlin: Where Fashion Becomes Culture

My introduction to the new era of Berlin Fashion Week came through MAXIMILIAN GEDRA. A single image stopped me, followed by a reel that was impossible to look away from. Within days, my partner and I were immersed—drawn in by productions that felt intentional and precise, every detail moved in harmony.

Founded in 2023, MAXIMILIAN GEDRA is a Berlin-based high fashion brand defined by bold silhouettes and fearless construction. Rooted in the city’s culture of creative freedom, the brand blends past, present, and future into modern classics that challenge convention.

While I admire the precision of Chanel, the theatrical mastery of Robert Wun, and the cultural and powerful presence of Lagos Fashion Week, it was MAXIMILIAN GEDRA who drew me in further. Thus, I explored deeper, transitioning from runway into Berlin’s creative psyche—making this season one we’re proud to spotlight as part of EVO’s preview issue.

Berlin Isn’t a Destination — It’s a Cultural Study

Berlin isn’t approached by EVO as a destination—it’s approached as a cultural study.

This season, our Berlin coverage unfolds as a living editorial, shaped by movement, mood, and meaning. Beyond the runway, the city reveals fashion in its most honest form—where streets become studios, people become the narrative, and style lives between rebellion and refinement.

More to come.

Berlin in Focus

To bring this perspective to life, EVO has collaborated with Berlin photographer, Mariia Dred who shares a curated selection of imagery below. Featuring moments from previous Berlin Fashion Weeks—including work with MAXIMILIAN GEDRA—her photographs capture the precision, atmosphere, and creative intensity that define both the designer’s vision and the city’s fashion culture.

An award-winning Berlin-based photographer, Mariia’s work moves fluidly between runway and behind-the-scenes, translating fashion through context, emotion, and place.

To me, the word diverse best captures Berlin’s attitude toward fashion: diversity in models, designers across very different aesthetics, and a streetstyle culture that is less about trends and more about personal expression. - Mariia Dred

Berlin Fashion Week: A Point of View

In Berlin, fashion is shaped by expression rather than expectation. Here, it’s seeming to be less about trends and more about perspective.

Beyond Berlin

Fashion Month is a study in perspective—how cities shape fashion through culture and intent. EVO begins in Berlin, where fashion is expression rather than performance, then moves through cities that define power, craft, and legacy.

Berlin approaches fashion through contrast and creative freedom. New York Fashion Week follows with pace and presence, where ambition moves in real time. Milan Fashion Week refines the season through precision and discipline. Paris Fashion Week endures as the standard—where artistry and intention lead. Lagos Fashion Week radiates confidence and creative force.
